How do I keep my teenage son from accessing those "interesting" Web sites?
The beauty and curse of the Internet is that one can find information on just about anything within seconds and a few mouse clicks. That includes adult-oriented content that would be inappropriate for children. There are software applications on the market such as Norton 360 where parents can set controls on who can access what kinds of Web sites.
Oftentimes, the application will provide an area where you can type in the Web site addresses that are off limits, which is then blocked on the browser. Some of these programs also have ways to block content from being displayed based on certain keywords. These solutions are often seen at libraries and airports.
But perhaps more importantly than installing preventative software is to have a frank discussion with your teenager about making good choices!
