Saving Your Internet Favorites

August 29, 2008

On my standard PC, I can easily store files on floppy disks and also on flash drives. However, I don't know how to do the same with the listing of all the bookmarks that I have saved over the last several years. How do I do that? — Bob

I assume you are using one of the two leading Internet browsers on your PC.

In Firefox 2.0+:

  1. Go to your top File menu, /Bookmarks/Organize Bookmarks.
  2. In the new window you'll see a list of all your stored bookmarks.
  3. Under the File menu, click on Export, and you'll be able to save them all under your chosen directory path.

In Internet Explorer 7.0:

  1. If you don't have the File menu toolbar turned on to display, then right click on the top menu bar area, and select Menu Bar.
  2. Under the File menu, click on Import and Export, to open the Import/Export Wizard. Click Next.
  3. Select Export Favorites. Click Next.
  4. Select the Favorites directory to select all the Favorites. Click Next.
  5. Select the radio button: Export to a File or Address, with the default path. Click Next.
  6. Click Finished!
